Introduction Of Engineering Drawing

A tractor used to speed up the plowing of a field, an oil engine to drive a well if the well water is to be pumped out, train engine, tow engine, sugar mills, clocks for watching the time, for everyday vehicles, scooters or bicycles. Things you must be watching.

Does each of the above objects have a single part? If not, they make various machines and their spare parts in the factory, which are made by assembling different spare parts together, but to make them, the craftsman has to be told about the size of the parts, what are the measurements, etc. If we continue to describe all such things orally, will all of them come to the attention of the artisan? That is, verbal descriptions of craftsmen are inadequate.

We see different types of paintings drawn by an artist. Whether it is a picture of nature, fruit, flowers, or other objects, you see things in a picture, but suppose you do not see the pictures, but if you had already described the things in the picture, would you have understood it? No. But the picture made sense right away, so you can tell from it that the picture also became a kind of language.

In the field of innovation, an engineer draws a standardized picture of an object and gives its measurements and other information. Such a standardized and informative picture is called engineering drawing or engineering painting.

The engineer in the factory informs the artisan about the making of the object with the help of such a diagram so that the artisan gets the same information about the size and dimensions of the object. It also gives you a good idea of how to connect different parts. that is, with the help of a diagram, the engineer communicates with the craftsman. Since the engineer describes the object in the language of the drawing, the drawing is also called the language of the engineer.

Now, language means rules, and rules and meanings are given so that anyone can read what is written anywhere. So if you read the "drawing" done according to that rule, you will understand everything given in it.

So, friends, we are going to learn the important language of drawing. But since it is a language of lines, it requires tools like standardization, accuracy, orderlines, etc. As per the rules and it requires the help of good and good quality material. Without it, the design will not be complete. For this, before we start learning this subject, let us first introduce the material you need.

Painting planning and layout

We embellish any object to make it look good. An example in everyday life is if someone new comes to your house. we decorate the house so that it will be happy to see the new house.

Similarly in engineering painting or drawings were drawn by the trainees, it is necessary to draw in such a way that it will look good and satisfy the mind of the new viewer. A certified layout is considered important for each drawing it is necessary to take his information for this.

When making any drawing, first draw four boundary lines on all four sides on the drawing sheet so that the drawing does not go beyond the outline, of course, any engineering design has to be drawn within these boundaries.

40mm from the left side of the drawing sheet. And 10mm on the other three sides. Leave a gap. this is called margin. So filling and folding can be done. without it, the edges of the drawing sheet are not bad. The little block is drawn in the lower right-hand corner of the sheet layout. Since it is drawn in the right part, all the information on it can be easily read even after folding the drawing sheet.

Borderline and title block :

Removing the borderlines gives clear for drawing work. leave more space on the left side of the drawing sheet. Because then the drawing sheet can be kept by filling or binding. 10mm from the top, bottom, and right side of the borderline drawing paper. Draw at the same distance and 40mm from the left-hand side. Draw a borderline at a distance.

The spacing of drawing :

When a single figure is to be drawn on a drawing paper sheet. Then draw it in the middle of the drawing working space. If more than one drawing or figure is to be drawn, divide the appropriate block on the drawing sheet and draw each figure in the center of the block.

Drawing tools and exact method of using them :

The accuracy of the drawing depends on good quality materials for quick and accurate drawing. Therefore, good quality materials are required for drawing.

The following materials are required for drawing.

  1. Drawing board
  2. T square
  3. Sets square
  4. Scale
  5. Protractor
  6. French curve
  7. Mini drafter
  8. Instrument box
  9. Drawing paper
  10. Pencil
  11. Rubber eraser
  12. Drawing pins, Tweezers, Adhesive
  13. Sandpaper
  14. Duster cloth

Drawing board :

The drawing board is rectangular in shape and is made of 25mm of finely woven softwood. Made from thick planks. These boards are fastened with two wooden planks (batons) at the back so that they do not bend and become detached. The edge of the right side of the board is very important as the edge of the work. This edge is sharply straightened for the important work0of carrying the stock of 'T' quality from the work side and sliding it up and down.

Since the surface of this board is used only for the base of the drawing sheet, it is strictly flattened. All the edges of the board are in a straight line and they are perpendicular to each other.
Drawing boards come in a variety of sizes. Which size drawing paper you are going to use depends on which drawing board to use.

T square :

It is called 'T' square because its shape looks like 'T' in the English alphabet it is made from hardwood or plastic. It has two parts. 1) Stock 2) Blade. the blades on the stock are tightened with the help of a screw so that the edge of the work on the stock is perpendicular to the work side of the blade. The inside of the T-square stock and the top of the blade is the edges of his work.

The working edge of the stock is to be used by sliding it up and down on the ebony edge of the drawing board. This allows you to draw horizontal lines parallel to the length of the drawing board. It is also used to support Sets square. The same 'T' square is used to supplement the size of the board.

sets square :

it's always a pair. and everyone's angels are different. one of them will be 45-90-45 and the second one will 60-90-30. every angel's name is given on the sets square. for example 30degree sets square or 45degree sets square. sets square are made by transparent plastic and in many sizes according to your work. sets square is used to draw horizontal, vertical, parallel, italics lines, or any accurate angel.

Protractor

The shape of the protractor is circular or semi-circular.  It is made from plastic, wood or steel.  In a diagram, a protractor is used to draw angles that cannot be measured or drawn by squares.  The circumference of the protractor is marked from degree to 180 degrees and the line at right angles to the center is marked with '0'

French Curve:

French curves made from wood, vulcanized, or transparent plastic come in many shapes and sizes.  It is used to draw circular, irregularly rounded, or non-removable shapes with a compass.

 Mini Drafter:

Mini Drafter Is an improved drawing instrument.  MiniDafter, also known as Drafting Machine, combines the uses and benefits of T Square, Sets Square, Standard, and Protractor.  It fits on two-scale protractors at right angles.  The protractor can be tightened by rotating it at any angle with the help of a knob.  One end of the machine is screwed onto the drawing board and the other end with the scale can be rotated anywhere on the board to draw horizontal and vertical parallel lines.  Also, it can be rotated at any angle.  This machine has a mechanism that, even if both scales of the word bar are moved, they always remain parallel to their original position.  This machine does not have to use T square, sets square and protractor separately.  This makes drawing easier and faster.

 Instrument box:

The instrument box contains the following materials:

A) Large compass - with interchangeable pencil and pen legs

B) Lengthening bar

C) Small-bow compass

D) Large-divider

 E) Small bow divider

F) Small bow ink pen

G) Inking pen

 A) Large compass:

The compass is used to draw a circle or a circle bracket.  It has two steel legs riveted together at the top.  Of the compass One leg has a needle-like tip at the bottom and the other leg has a pencil lid.  Also, hold an ink pen instead of a lead point.
